The Berkshire e-Learning Foundation powered by ....

Welcome to the Berkshire e-Learning Foundation, a registered charity (charity number 1118405) launched in 2006.

Our aim is to significantly increase home access to computer technology for pupils across Berkshire so that they can access learning resources where and when they want them.

The Foundation, working in partnership with Local Authorities, schools, parents and businesses aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all children, irrespective of their background and circumstances, can have access to technology for learning especially at home.

National research carried out by the Department for Education and Skills indicates that full time access to ICT by pupils increases their levels of attainment in national tests; raises boys achievement - particularly in English and raised the standard of work and involvement of disaffected pupils.

   What do we do?

The Berkshire e-Learning Foundation performs the following three main tasks:

  •  Provides an advisory and support service to help schools develop the most appropriate strategy to achieve high levels of home access to ICT learning resources

  • Acts as a fundraiser, and help schools to bid for grants to develop their own sustainable sources of income
  • Supports schools as they develop and implement their e-Learning strategies, specifically providing advice and guidance on how best to engage parents in the project.
